Proofreading checks the surface of the text: spellings, commas, grammar, typos. It doesn't touch style or structure; what you wanted to say stays exactly as it is.

Every finding comes back as an annotation at the relevant point in the text, with a concrete suggestion. Accepting takes one click; so does rejecting.

Editing

Style, narrative thread, dramatic structure.

Editing looks at the level above: where does a scene drag, where does a character remain unclear, where does the narrative tension fall flat? Feedback is explained, not just marked.

If you add the whole-work check, logic and characterisation are also checked across the entire manuscript: eye colours, time references, names that have changed along the way.

Cost

Charged by the word, not by estimated effort.

Every plan includes a monthly word allowance: 5,000 words on Beginner, 12,000 on Professional, 25,000 on Expert. The Free plan includes 2,500 words to try it out. The allowance applies to the scope reviewed, not per service: the same 20,000 words sent for proofreading and editing use up 20,000 words, not 40,000.

Anything beyond that is charged in increments of 10,000 words, with partial blocks counting in full. The rates depend on the plan: proofreading €15 to €8, editing €24 to €14 per 10,000 words.
